Seabournes Studios has been set up with two things in mind: to run workshops with professional artists and to provide a series of non-tutored retreats where artists can focus on their own work. Tuition can take place in the studio or en plein air in the beautiful gardens which run down to and along the River Wye.

Seabournes is located near the market towns of Ross on Wye, Ledbury and the cathedral City of Hereford, on a stretch of river known as the Middle Wye.

We offer a friendly and serene space for creativity and inspiration. The gardens were designed in the 1920’s along Arts and Crafts lines, and offer new vistas at every turn, a place to rejuvenate and to reflect.

The house was once part of a complex which includes Fawley Chapel. There is a natural ford on the river here and from the 11th Century, Augustinian monks from Llanthony Abbey resided here, receiving produce from both sides of the river to put onto boats for distribution up and down stream.
